Deuteronomy 6:5-7

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Today

I have not put my new pics in order to post yet, but thought I would take the advice of a friend, and just write.

Maddie and I had a nice day today. She slept in. Until 9. I loved it!

She watched her favorite video today--the Cedarmont Kids Action Bible Songs. She loves it. She will watch it over and over. In her exersaucer. I get 30 + minutes of "free" time."

We had a friend and her son over for lunch. He is a month older than Maddie and they had a great time together. I did not worry about the house being clean. I did not make lunch--we ordered pizza. I don't even feel badly for it being unhealthy OR for not making lunch for our guests. This is new to me. I am working on enjoying company and time, rather than stressing about the house, meal, etc... being perfect. I did not even clean up until they had left. Maddie threw watermelon on the floor and I did not care.

Maddie was in timeout only once today.

She took a 3 hour nap. I took a 2 hour nap.

I did no housework. Joe made dinner. And cleaned. Now he is giving Maddie her bath. I am being lazy. This is okay.

I am currently reading a great book. I read it every night before bed. I actually look forward to it all day. It is called "The Most Important Place on Earth." It is about what a Christian home looks like and how to create one. I love it. It helps me keep my role in perspective and want to be the best mom I can be.

It is time for our nighttime routine with Maddie. She now folds her hands when we say it is time for prayers. She also says "ANEN!" She usually does this right after we start prayers, but she sits still and listens intently. I love this.

I have no plans to leave the house tomorrow. I love days like that.

Today was a nice day. God is good to us.

i LOVED reading your entry today!!!

and good for you for focusing on your friend instead of the house and appearances. way to go!

that is so sweet that maddie folds her hands and says amen - i can't wait until our girls say that. right now, we're happy that they will hold hands with us. but the prayer has to be SHORT! or they let go and start eating.

sleep well and we'll connect next week.

What a great day you had! I loved you focusing on your friend and not stressing about the house. Good for you!

How sweet that Maddie is praying with you. You are doing such a good job of training her early.

Thanks for giving me the link to your blog! I'm going to enjoy reading it!
